Trail Update
Dry River Ranger District- Bob Tennyson has been busy posting carsonite signs at all the trail intersections. They are going to be using 2 color blazes in the Dry River - purple and yellow. Thomas Jenkins and Rich Edwards did an outstanding job motivating the Shenandoah Mountain Bike Club trail crew this past fall. The result was a finished reroute on the North River trail that descends off of Shenandoah Mountain from the Shenandoah Mountain Picnic Area and Bald Knob Rd.
Lee Ranger District- Don Saywers crew is fabulous. They have really done a great job blazing the trails with every color under the rainbow. They have officially adopted the Trails Illustrated map (Massanutten/North Mtn) as the official map of their district. There is a new trail to be constructed on the Great North Mountain. They will be stretching the existing trails south along the ridge(extending the North Mountain Trail south towards Hunkerson Gap heading towards Rt.259) with a supporting network around the base of the mountain. It should be incredible. Please send us your contact information if you are interested in assisting
Deerfield Ranger District- Mike Gallegy- the trails director- did a great job cleaning up the Shenandoah Mountain Trail after the fire damage. He also had a crew doing brush work all summer. Elliott's has never ridden so well because the lines in the rocks are visible. We will keep you posted on the current news as soon as it becomes available.

Check out Operation BOB! It's a great way you can pitch in to the trail effort at your own leisure! We are looking to restart the program in May.

Check out these signs! The Forest Service is busting a move!! Thanks

Thomas Jenkins (Shenandoah Bicycle Co.) and Kevin Stein (IMBA) bask in the glory of their fresh bench work on the Southern Traverse Trail during the IMBA Epic Oct. 2000. Someone was overheard mumbling in a singletrack stupor that they could see their reflection on the trail it was so sweet!
