Welcome to the most important page of this website! This page is not only intended to help you find the best ride you can have! But more importantly keep everyone abreast of what trails need attention. Please give direct and constructive feedback so everyone can assist in keeping the carpet green and sticky! Lee Ranger District The Lee District was ravaged by Gypsy Moths as of recently. This has caused an unmanageable spurt in the low vegetation. They cannot keep the growth from consuming the trails because of the additional sunlight that is making its way in from the lack of canopy above. They will be doing some spraying on a few select trails to keep the trails open and usable for all. If things look a bit funny I would say don't touch!! Dry River Ranger District Give us your feedback about the trails. We have worked on Red Diamond, the Wild Oak trail heading down to Camp Todd, and Trimble Mtn trail as of last fall. Let us know what you think needs work. Thanks! Deerfield Ranger District Southern Traverse- the southern section of the SMT has been getting some heavy traffic relative to this area since it's designation as an IMBA Epic ride for 2000. Please be considerate to the trail and the parking area on FR 173. The area we use for parking is private property - please park in the area on the roads side of the stream to the left. They did some work to the stream crossing at the parking area last time I was out there. It is very soft if you pull in too far towards the trees. Becareful of getting stuck and don't leave tire trenches with your vehicle! Stamp the ground back into place if you damage it - Thanks. Warm Springs Ranger District James River Ranger District Pedlar Ranger District Monongahela National Forest - West Virginia Do you ever go over to the dark side? If you do, keep us informed- send us your updates so we can all stay hip to the conditions! |
